Quinoa Porridge


1/2 cup quinoa (well rinsed)

1 cup water

1 cup milk or plant based milk of your choice

1/2 tsp. Himalaya or sea salt

1 Tbsp. maple syrup

1/4 cup of raisins (optional)

1/4 tsp. cinnamon

1/4 tsp. cardamom powder

1/4 cup chopped nuts (toasted, soaked or raw)

1 tsp. ghee


Rinse the the quinoa in a fine mesh strainer, rub with fingers as you rinse.

Put the water, salt, and milk into saucepan and bring to boil.

Stir in quinoa, cinnamon, cardamom, raisins.

lower heat, cover and simmer for about 15 - 20 minutes, or until quinoa swells to create a porridge-like consistency.

Stir in the ghee and maple syrup

serve and enjoy!
